“He will be able to forge his own destiny,” said Jor-El, the father of Kal-El, Clark Kent, or Superman.
This is what the entire movie is about. It is about finding your identity and within your purpose.
But what does it mean? Finding your identity and your purpose? For me, your identity stands for who you are, how you act, and what you believe in. A purpose is having a goal to get where you want and who you want to be. I do not mean a place in a world, more a position in a community.
Everyone in the movie is born for a reason; they all have a purpose to fulfill.
This is what Clark is trying to find out: who he is, who he wants to be and what he wants to do. As a natural birth, Clark was born on another plant, and raised on earth by and with human beings. Little by little he gets to know his skills, what he is able to do, and what he needs to do. In the end, he found his purpose.
A lot of people think they have to find their purpose and the sense of their life like Buddha once said: ”Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it.”, or as some say: ”Accept yourself, your strengths, your weaknesses, your truths, and know what tools you have to fulfill your purpose.”
Quotes can not be right or wrong, but I think, they are both well thought-out and have a powerful meaning; clearly, it is about finding your purpose and identity. In my opinion, they fit very well with the topic. Otherwise, they want to know what they are living for but is this supposed be our goal in life?
Honestly, I do not think so because you do not need to be so focused on finding your identity or purpose in life. If you are, you may stuck on one thing and do not move forward.
I agree with Jonathan Kent, Clark’s adoptive father, because he said: "You just have to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be, Clark,” "People are afraid of what they don't understand.”
That is right because why else would you want to know all these things.
You will find or rather know your identity and purpose with your way of life anyway and know who you are meant to be or want to be.
You do not need a purpose to live, maybe in the movie but it is not necessary for humans. I think, it is just important to find your identity and know who you are and who you want to be. Within, of course, the purpose of life, your purpose is who you want to be but all these things will come with the time and you should not seek for it.
But finally it is my view, my point to this topic. Everyone thinks different and that is
good. What I want to say is, everyone should make their own point clear and live
their life, the way they want to.
